A Tribute to Dame Fiona Kidman
The next exhibition at the Arts in Oxford Gallery is a tribute to a pre-eminent contemporary New Zealand writer via the inter-relationship of her writings and photography – ECHOES OF WOMEN, a French tribute to Fiona Kidman. The concept for the exhibition came about whilst two French photographers, Lise Leboeuf and Sor Evzen, were touring New Zealand during 2010 and discovered the works of Dame Fiona. Her books echoed their own works; portraits of women in their own environment.
A highlight of the exhibition will be an evening with Dame Fiona at 7:00pm on Wednesday 22nd May at the gallery. The artists’ profits from the sale of all prints during the exhibition will be donated to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation and the Cancer Society of New Zealand. The Arts in Oxford exhibition will be the only opportunity to view these works in the South Island.
The exhibition runs from the 14th to the 26th May.
