Seeking Volunteers for the Gallery

Do you like meeting visitors, or are interested in the arts or working collectively?  Can you spare three hours per week, per fortnights, or per month?

If Yes, our art gallery needs more helpers and would love to hear from you.

The gallery’s main aim is to bring Art to the Community.

There are many reasons why our current Volunteers come along, certainly we are not all artists. Most commonly it is just a way of getting out of the house and meeting people.  The Gallery is a lovely environment to spend a few hours in, whilst getting to chat to some interesting people from far and wide, as well as mixing with a group of friendly local people who are the current Volunteers.

Arts in Oxford is a non-profit Charitable Trust which is 100% staffed by volunteers.  There are a variety of ways that you can assist in the day to day running of our gallery – such as  welcoming visitors, exhibition and gift shop sales, assisting in exhibition set-up and take down, communications, social media, exhibition and workshop administration etc.  Some volunteers are present in the gallery on a roster basis for half a day, 10am – 1 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm; but you can also have a specific task.  Experience in helping in an art gallery is not necessary as newcomers receive careful support and guidance as they learn.

We all very much enjoy being part of the volunteer team, and members have different backgrounds and experiences which all go to make a great team.

If you feel you may be interested, why not visit the gallery and talk to one of our volunteers about what they do,  or telephone us to register your interest:

Gallery hours are 10 am – 4 pm, Tuesdays to Sundays except on public holidays.
