Oxford Paper Making Group
The Arts in Oxford Paper-making group gets together to make paper once a month, using a little critter Hollander beater, made by Mark Lander. We are experimenting and learning all the time as we explore new raw materials and push ourselves to learn new techniques and get better at old ones. It doesn’t always go to plan but that’s part of the fun.
We make paper to sell in the gallery and run regular workshops where we teach some of the skills we have learned and allow participants to make their own paper, see how it all works and be part of the process. In our showcase exhibition 27 July to 11 August 2019, we celebrated that the raw paper has its own story already as well as exploring some of the many different ways of working with it.
